This week was all about social startups and their fantastic business ideas with #impact.

On Monday I got to speak to Givo just ahead of their first live event in cooperation with So in So Good. So in So Good, sounds familiar? Yes, I also got to record an interview with the energetic Social Good enablers from So in So Good a couple of weeks back and they will be featured in Episode #4.

But back to Givo.

Interview with Givo

Givo just launched an App which makes giving more easy and fun. Think Facebook for Social Good. Givo is the world’s first all-in-one news, social media and donation platform for charities.
The co-founders of Givo Alvin Li and Adrian So are high school friends turned business partners, and their charming head of communications Jodie Chan is busy growing an engaged community online and offline.

In our chat, they shared how they came up with the idea, what keeps them up at night and what advice they would give aspiring changemakers. Don’t miss their story in Episode #7.

Later this week I met up with Xania Wong, founder of JobDOH, a smart hiring booking platform set out to improve the way jobs are distributed. With her business, she not only helps temporary workers to find jobs fast but she also collaborates with NGOs and caters to underserved communities such as mothers and visible minorities.

Xania for sure is one of the most driven young women I ever met. We discussed Impact Investing, becoming a certified B Corp and the entrepreneurial challenges along the way. If you want to know why she thinks passion is not enough to start a business with impact, you should not miss Episode #8.

Not much longer now. The first episodes of #impact Podcast will be coming your way very soon.

But before that, China starts into the New Year of the Rooster, and I am wishing you all a very happy Chinese New Year ahead!

Have a lovely weekend.

Yours,
Regina
