Driving social innovation in Hong Kong.

As a clinical psychologist and counsellor, Jamie is driving social innovation in her own rights. She has worked with hundreds of at-risk teens struggling with depression and anxiety. She spent her doctorate years researching the factors of youth depression and suicide and investigating the effectiveness of school-based mental health programs.

Jamie started The Brightly Project a bit over a year ago, with the vision to support teens struggling with depression. She also encourages their parents to learn about, and connect with professional therapists, psychologists, and counsellors. Jamie initiated the #IWTK (I want to know) programme, an anonymous question-asking platform for teenagers where youngsters receive personalised answers and advice from healthcare professionals.

In this short episode, you hear how Jamie’s Suicide Prevention programme has caught attention all over Hong Kong.

“Believe in yourself”, Jamie shares advice she would give her younger self.

It is a community of changemakers, made up of people with a vision to make an impact just like Jamie, who Dream Impact wants to see thrive in Hong Kong and beyond. Dream Impact set up in Hong Kong in autumn of last year and their vision is to create collective social impact through their business and develop an innovative, resilient network.

Social innovation is at the heart of their mission.

Taking part in their buzzing community event and feeling the spirit of a thriving community of changemakers eager to collaborate for even more social innovation and impact made us realise that the power of GOOD is everywhere.

We are very excited to see the impact of their work grow and were thrilled to catch up with Dorothy Lam, Community Leader at Dream Impact who shares what we could all do to make the world a better place.
